Coronation Street's Peter Ash has been established as one of the show's major figures.
The soap star is renowned for his role as Paul Foreman on the Cobbles. The character was introduced in 2018 for a brief storyline as David Platt's cellmate.
However, he made a surprise return to Weatherfield the following year as he was looking for his twin sister, Gemma Winter. It has been a big week for the family as Gemma tied the knot with Chesney Brown.

However, the week has also been tinged with sadness as Paul has struggled with his motor neurone disease diagnosis, which will eventually lead to the character's death.
The soap star revealed he felt sad when he was told his time on Corrie would come to an end. He said: "I was called into the producer's office late last year, and he said we've got this very big storyline for you, which will be a great thing to do, but it will mean an eventual exit.
"I had mixed feelings obviously. I'll be sad to leave the show. It's an amazing job, I've met fantastic people. I'll be sad to leave but at the same time, I'm quite happy to be involved in such a powerful storyline which will hopefully bring awareness to it. It's a double edged sword."
Before Corrie, Paul has previously appeared in Footballer's Wives alongside current co-star, Ben Price. He branded himself a jobbing actor in between and said he had to work in multiple different careers.
He told Mirror Online: "I had some amazing acting jobs, but they were here and there spread out. In between I was doing day jobs like bar work, working in call centres.
"Most of the time as an actor you are out of work. That is why I feel so lucky now to be involved in this show. It is regular work and it is the first time in my life I have done regular acting work for over a year.
"But you have to do other stuff in between to pay the bills. I was a driver for a while, picking up cars driving them around the country. You do anything and everything - but you also have to find something flexible so that you can go for auditions, and then if you get a job you might need a few weeks off for filming. So it is hard, as there aren’t many jobs where you can do that."
Peter hails from a talented family as he is cousins with Will Ash, who plays Caleb Milligan in Emmerdale. The actor was among the first to celebrate the news after it was announced he was joining the cast in the fictional Yorkshire village. He said: "Yes! This is my cousin, Will! He's an absolutely fantastic actor, and was one of my big inspirations for getting into acting myself! Can't wait to see him do his stuff in #Emmerdale!"
