An Israeli security cabinet meeting on Tuesday concluded without any significant decisions being made, as reported by two Israeli sources familiar with the discussions. The meeting, which lasted for two hours, was anticipated to address the impending Israeli takeover and occupation of Gaza City. However, the focus shifted to a regional security review, with no consideration given to the latest ceasefire proposal currently under discussion.

Notably, several key ministers were notably absent from the meeting, including Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir, Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, and Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar, who is currently on an official visit to the United States. The government has rescheduled the discussion on the planned offensive on Gaza City for the upcoming security cabinet meeting on Sunday.
Opposition Leader Yair Lapid expressed disappointment in the Cabinet's failure to address the hostage deal during the meeting, labeling it as a moral failure on the part of the government. Lapid emphasized the existence of a potential deal that could facilitate the return of hostages and bring an end to the ongoing conflict.
