Ireland striker Adam Idah sidelined with fresh knee injury

Adam Idah is facing another spell on the sidelines and is likely to miss Ireland’s upcoming Nations League games against Scotland and Armenia.

The forward has suffered a set-back after returning from a six-month lay off because of a knee injury and requires additional surgery.

Idah suffered a season-ending injury in February and went under the knife.

The Corkman missed Ireland’s four games in June as a result but returned for Norwich City last month, only to meet a fresh setback this week.

Canaries boss Dean Smith said today: “Adam’s knee is still swelling up. He had to have some exploratory surgery and that will put him out for a number of weeks.”

Idah is expected to miss out on Stephen Kenny’s squad for the final two Nations League games when it is named at Aviva Stadium next Thursday.
