Iran’s Speaker of the Parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, on Tuesday accused the U.S. of committing major violations of the terms agreed upon in the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between Washington and Tehran following missile strikes.
Major MoU Violations
In a post on the social media platform X, Ghalibaf said that the U.S. was “violating Iranian adjustments in the Strait [of Hormuz],” adding that the “persistent threat” of further strikes was also a violation of the terms.
The Treasury’s move to reinstate “oil sanctions” as well as the “attacks on southern Iran” and the “continued Zionist aggression” in Lebanon were all violations of the MoU, Ghalibaf said. “The era of bullying and extortion is over. It leads nowhere. We don’t fold,” he said.

CENTCOM said that the strikes were in response to Iran hitting multiple vessels in the Strait of Hormuz. Notably, Iran had earlier warned ships traversing the waterway must follow the path it designated or risk getting struck.
UKMTO Updates
