Instant analysis from Dolphins’ embarrassing loss to Bills in Week 4

The Miami Dolphins suffered their first defeat of the season on Sunday afternoon, as they were beaten down by the Buffalo Bills 48-20.

Josh Allen and company absolutely destroyed Vic Fangio’s defense, as he completed 84% of his attempts for 320 yards and four touchdowns. He found Stefon Diggs, who was covered by Kader Kohou for a majority of the game, six times for 120 yards and three scores.

An offer for Dolphins fans

Kohou was getting beat early and often, but Miami didn’t really adjust. They just allowed him to give up play after play and score after score.

While the Dolphins were terrible against the pass, they were alright against the run. They allowed 104 yards on 29 carries. However, it may have been worse if the Bills didn’t have such a big lead.

Offensively, the Dolphins started off hot, getting running back De’Von Achane twice in the first half, but they quickly came apart, especially when left tackle Terron Armstead left the game with a knee injury.

Miami was already playing Liam Eichenberg at center for Connor Williams and Kendall Lamm was thrust into action again for Armstead.

Eichenberg struggled in action, as he had a few low snaps that threw off the timing of some plays and a penalty that negated a touchdown.

It wasn’t all on the offensive line, though. Tua Tagovailoa wasn’t as sharp as he had been in the first three weeks. He completed 71% of his attempts for 282 yards, one touchdown and an ugly interception.

Adding to the mistakes, Raheem Mostert had two fumbles. They were lucky that they only lost one, as two Bills players hit the ball away from each other, and it happened to fall at Braxton Berrios’ feet.

This was Miami’s biggest test of the season to this point, and they failed miserably.
