Inquest opens into death of man, 24, in Nottinghamshire village

The inquest into the death of a young man whose body was identified by his dad has been opened.

Lewis John Williams was found dead on Annesley Lane in Selston, Nottingham on August 29 last year.

He was aged 24 and it was his dad John Lewis who identified the body, the inquest heard.

A provisional cause of his death was given following a post mortem examination.

This includes combined alcohol and cardiomegaly, a condition which refers to having an enlarged heart.

A date of the first hearing of the inquest is yet to be set.

Senior Coroner Miss Mairin Casey opened the inquest into Lewis John Williams’ death at the Council House in Nottingham on Thursday (February 10).

Miss Casey passed on her condolences and best wishes to Lewis John Williams’ family.
