‘I’ve gotten 3 free nights already’: California woman shares how to get free night stays with Marriott—it involves an activity you probably already do

Turns out an everyday caffeine addiction might be the most lucrative travel hack of the year. It may sound far-fetched, but your daily cup of joe can actually earn you a few free nights of accommodation at Marriott when traveling.

A California woman claims she’s already scored three free Marriott nights just by linking her Starbucks account to her Marriott rewards. Every promo, every limited-time drink challenge, every “might as well get a pastry too” moment quietly stacks hotel points in the background. Who knew a latte habit was basically a passport stamp waiting to happen?

How Does She Do It?

In a short 70-second clip, Dominica (@dreamvacations4all) comes prepared with one of the most interesting travel hacks this year. The video’s 600,000 views suggest it is an entirely new trend. After greeting her viewers, Dominica gets straight to the point.

“So, I have to share with you one of my latest travel hacks,” she says. “Maybe some of you guys are already on this–drop down below and let me know if you are.”

She continues, “So, if you love Starbucks like I do and you are a Marriott member like I am, have you all linked those accounts? I have gotten so many extra Marriott points by having those two accounts linked. I’ve gotten like three free night stays already just by, you know, getting those points bonuses.” Dominica then explains how it works.

“Like this week, Starbucks has–like if you buy a certain drink on a certain week…I think through the beginning of December, you can get like 300 extra Marriott points. And those points add up ‘cause like I said, I have gotten like three nights free so far with linking those accounts,” she explains.

“So, if you have not linked your Marriott and your Starbucks account yet, what are you waiting for? Do it now.” Dominica then ends the clip after asking her viewers to drop a comment if they followed through with the hack.

How does the Starbucks/Marriott Collaboration Work?

With the booming businesses of capitalism, it’s easy for certain collaborations to go unnoticed amidst all the chaos. By keeping up with travel hacks, though, it can be a way to mitigate all those rising costs of travel in 2025. Dominica’s hack is extremely important, and many people did not know about it. If one goes to Marriott’s website, there is a special page concerning its collaboration with Starbucks. This page gives the terms and conditions of linking those two accounts together.

The website shows:

“Marriott Bonvoy® is collaborating with Starbucks® Rewards to enable Members with linked loyalty accounts to earn Marriott Bonvoy® Points and Double Starbucks® Rewards Stars.

Members can earn in the following ways:

  • Earn Double Starbucks® Rewards Stars on all U.S. Qualifying Starbucks® Transactions during an Eligible Stay at a Participating Marriott Bonvoy® Hotel.
  • During each designated Marriott Bonvoy® Week | Sip, Dream, Go™, earn 100 Marriott Bonvoy® Points when visiting a Participating Starbucks® Store in the U.S. and completing 3 Qualifying Starbucks® Transactions.”

Some Never Knew, While Others Share More Hacks

Dominica’s comments section is a mixed bag of people declaring these businesses should be boycotted, others claiming they knew about the hack, and some sharing even more hacks.

One viewer states, “Not yall still supporting them.” While another says, “Ma’am that’s ALOT of Starbucks when they were supposed to be canceled.” Another viewer responds and says, “Okay then miss out on free hotel nights.”

Others are simply confused at the math concerning buying enough Starbucks to even get that many points to begin with. One viewer says, “3 free nights is A LOT of points. How much Starbucks u drinking?!?” Dominica then responds, “This is over time.”

Others give their own advice. One viewer shares, “Link your uber and Starbucks to delta airlines also.” Another says, “Yes yes and if her buy shell gas and link your American Airlines Advantage account you get 3 miles for every gallon you pump.”

Lastly, another viewer shared a hack: “Also 500 Marriott points for every hertz rental.”

During the era of rising costs, every penny counts. The Mary Sue has covered another hack to try at Marriott Hotels.

The Mary Sue has reached out to Dominica via TikTok message and comment and to Marriott via email.
