Nicki Minaj has left royal watchers laughing after offering her blunt take on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s rift with the Royal Family, complete with an unexpected British accent.

The rapper made the comments during a podcast appearance with Katie Miller, a former US government adviser. During their conversation, Minaj revealed she is a devoted fan of Netflix’s royal drama The Crown, admitting she has watched the series multiple times.

That confession prompted Miller to ask the obvious question: “What’s your take on Harry and Meghan then?” After taking a deep breath, Minaj didn’t hold back.

“I think he should go home. Like ET, he should phone home and then go home,” she said. Minaj then added that she didn’t agree with Harry publicly speaking out about his family troubles.

“I did not think he should have aired the family’s dirty laundry,” she continued, before switching into an exaggerated English accent and declaring: “But that’s just me, darling.”

The moment quickly became a highlight of the interview, with Minaj leaning into the accent again as she expanded on her thoughts. She insisted she wasn’t coming from a place of hate, but admitted she felt disappointed by how the family drama played out.

“I have nothing but love for them, for everyone. I love the Royal Family as if I know them,” she said. “But I think Americans, we love the idea of the Royal Family so much, and I just was like ‘uh’.” Minaj added that while she tries not to judge, the situation still caught her off guard.

“But you know, people do things, and you don’t know why, and you don’t know what’s going on inside of them,” she said. “So I don’t judge. But I was like ‘oh man’ because I felt like I knew them in some way.”

She later returned to the mock-English tone, jokingly scolding the Duke of Sussex. “So I was like ‘Harry, no don’t do that, you should know better’,” she said.

Harry has previously stated he has no intention of permanently moving back to Britain, saying he is “genuinely very happy in California.” Still, reports suggest he has told King Charles he “would love” to spend more time in the UK going forward, possibly visiting every few months in 2026.

The King is said to be eager to rebuild a relationship with his youngest son and especially with his grandchildren, Archie and Lilibet, whom he has reportedly seen only a handful of times.

Meanwhile, speculation continues over whether Meghan will return to Britain this summer. Last month, reports claimed she may attend an Invictus Games one-year countdown event on July 10, ahead of the 2027 Games in Birmingham, but only if security arrangements are approved.

Harry is still awaiting the outcome of a review of his security status as he continues his legal battle to regain armed police protection while in the UK. If the visit happens, it would mark Meghan’s first return to Britain since September 2022, when she attended Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral.

Minaj’s royal commentary comes shortly after she made headlines for publicly reaffirming her support for Donald Trump. “I am probably the president’s No. 1 fan,” she said at a Washington event last week. “And that’s not going to change.”
