‘I feel like it’s justice served’: Scam artist George Santos thanks Trump for a ‘second chance’

Republican leaning Former United States Representative George Santos is now a free man after receiving clemency from President Donald Trump for crimes such as wire fraud and identity theft. For those who are not unaware, he was supposed to serve 7 years in prison and also pay a hefty amount as fine but ultimately had to serve for around 3 months and was pardoned of the fine for sucking upto Trump all the time.

After his release, George Santos was quick to announce his return. In a rather bold display that seemed to showcase his situation, he visited several news channels, repeating the same message again and again. While discussing about being granted a second chance by Donald Trump, Santos expressed his sincere gratitude to the United States President for pardoning him. In an interview with Fox News, he appeared cheerful and proud as he said:

“Thank you to President Trump for clemency and for having such an amazing will for second chances. I feel like it’s justice served in the sense of I’ve made some poor choices in my life but nothing would warrant a insane arbitrary sentence and but on top of that a sentence that no one else would have gotten.”

He then discussed what he believes to be a flawed justice system that imposes arbitrary sentences on non-violent first-time offenders like himself. He pointed out that during his conversation with President Trump, they talked about working on “prison reforms” in the system. Is he now a welfare advocate? Has he forgotten his past actions and their seriousness? Being a first-time offender doesn’t erase the fact that he lied and defrauded people for years.

Additionally, he was accused of deceiving individuals while pretending to help dogs. He has faced numerous allegations of collecting funds for dog-related causes and misusing those funds for his own gain. Although he was not convicted or found guilty of those charges, the later, more serious offenses related to fraud and deception that ultimately led to his arrest suggest a pattern that could indicate the claims are valid. As a dog lover and a firm believer in justice, I would never support George Santos receiving the “second chance” he was given and neither should you.
