Harry Kane admitted he was “disappointed” not to get on the score sheet - but insisted it was important to share the goals.
England smashed six past Iran in their opening Group match and, incredibly, top scorer Kane did not get among them even though he is just two goals short of Wayne Rooney ’s record.
But Kane said it is important that England are creating chances and putting goals past teams if they want to go a long way in Qatar.
Kane said: “To score six goals in a World Cup match is pretty good, really happy, but disappointed to concede a couple of goals but overall a great start to the tournament. To go far in any major tournament you need goals, from not just from your main striker, but from all over the place.
“I was really pleased and I know it’ll give everyone confidence. Everyone, whenever you score or get an assist, it lifts their spirits and we’re going to need everyone to do well in this tournament.”
Kane was also given a clean bill of health as he declared himself fit after suffering an ankle knock in the Iran game. England are also confident that Harry Maguire should be fit and insist that he did not suffer concussion despite undergoing medical checks on the pitch and was merely ill.

Meanwhile, the 11 starters against Iran did not take part in the training session with their team mates and just did a warm down. But James Maddison was still missing as he tries to recover from a hip problem which has restricted his involvement to date.
Newcastle ’s Callum Wilson also did his own special fitness programme away from the others as the England medics look to manage him carefully. England will return to normal training on Wednesday to begin full preparations for the United States game on Friday.
