Gustavo Scarpa point made as Nottingham Forest midfielder opens up

Nottingham Forest midfielder Gustavo Scarpa has spoken about his lack of playing time in recent matches, after the Brazilian was left out of the Reds squad last weekend against Everton.

Scarpa joined Steve Cooper's side in January and despite appearing regularly shortly after signing for the club, his appearances for Forest have dwindled in recent weeks. The midfielder's lack of playing time culminated in him being left out of the Forest squad altogether in the Reds' 2-2 draw against Sean Dyche's team last weekend.

But the 29-year-old is not concerned as speaking to Brazil's UOL and as quoted by Sport Witness, he said: “I was surprised because everything happened so fast, starting to play, having opportunities. Now I’m having a little less, but I think it’s normal, everyone goes through it, I’ve been through it myself a few times in Brazil."

Here's what Forest fans have had to say on Scarpa's lack of game time...

Worshipthetree: A great player with a great outlook on life. He will make a difference to Forest for sure. Just surprised we've not seen more of him.

Moses Akaboti: Why did Steve Cooper buy him when he knew he wasn't going to use him?

Bryn Targett: Needs to be played

Andy Bryant: It’s going to be hard coming from the climate he’s used to and then coming to ours. Good player, given time he’ll be a great player.

Joe Hallam: fantastic prospect and think he will become a regular next season and hopefully still get some chances this season

Patrick Collins: Get him on the pitch, he's a great player

Dan Waldron: Lacks strength and pace, but does get himself involved and can find a pass. A luxury we maybe can't afford right now

Patrick Brett: Minimum impact sub. Out of the match day squad is unacceptable to me!!

Daniel Mark Etheridge: That game would have suited him

Steve Jocky Jones: Great attitude
