'GTA 6' Has Been Delayed Yet Again to Give Devs 'Additional Time'

"Grand Theft Auto 6" has been officially delayed yet again.

The game, which was initially delayed to May 2026, will now be released on November 19, 2026. This is despite previous assurances that the game will not face any more delays.

It was initially scheduled for a fall 2025 release.

Why Has 'GTA 6' Been Delayed Again?

According to a report by IGN, the announcement was made during Take-Two's second quarter earnings.

Take-Two says that the delaying the game to November 2026 is due to the desire to give then team "some additional time to finish the game with the high level of polish players expect and deserve."

"Rockstar has our full support of course, and we are confident they will deliver an unrivalled blockbuster entertainment experience," Take-Two added.

The delay has also been announced on social media by Rockstar Games.

Set in the fictional town of Leonida, "GTA 6" will follow the story of Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, who find themselves protecting one another following a state-wide conspiracy.

The game is open world, which means players will be able to explore Leonida.

The game will be available for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X / S upon its release next year.
