Great British Summer Savings: The family attractions and children’s meals set to be cheaper

  • Chancellor Rachel Reeves announced the "Great British Summer Savings" scheme back in May, introducing a temporary VAT cut on various family activities.
  • Effective from 25 June until 1 September, the scheme aims to alleviate cost of living pressures for families across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
  • Families will benefit from reduced prices at attractions like Alton Towers and Legoland , as well as cheaper cinema tickets at chains such as Odeon.
  • Participating restaurants such as McDonald's , Nando's and Wetherspoons will also offer lower prices on children's meals.
  • The scheme, estimated to cost £300 million, also includes free bus travel for children aged five to 15 in England during the August school holidays.
