Grand Theft Auto 6 earnings projections and release date confirmed

Take-Two, the parent company of Grand Theft Auto developer Rockstar Games, has confirmed in an earnings call that the release date for GTA 6 is November 19, 2026. Alongside this fantastic news that the game isn’t being delayed any further, the company projected an astronomical $8 billion in revenue for the 2027 fiscal year.

For anyone worried about the near future of GTA 6, rest assured that the game is still set to release on time this fall, despite a lack of marketing so far.

Just before the start of the Take-Two Interactive earnings call, the company dropped a press release confirming the previously stated release date of November 19 this year. Given the lack of marketing for the game so far, plenty of players were nervous it could indicate another delay to what is most certainly the most anticipated game of the year.

The only major piece of information players still have to wait for is the price tag attached to it. There was no mention of the potential cost, though CEO Strauss Zelnick had already confirmed in an earlier interview that no price would be revealed in the earnings call.

While a huge profit from GTA 6 has always been expected, the earnings call from Take-Two still revealed a jaw-dropping number of $8 billion for their expected revenue in the next fiscal year. CEO of Take-Two, Strauss Zelnick, stated in the press release, “we believe Fiscal 2027 will establish new record levels of operating performance driven by the November 19th launch of Grand Theft Auto VI, along with strong execution across our portfolio.”

It’s clear that GTA 6 will be leading the charge in this high revenue estimate, especially given the recently leaked fiscal information from GTA 5 which indicated that GTA Online was making around $10 million a week. Other Rockstar Games are certainly pulling their weight, as Red Dead Redemption 2 has recently crossed the threshold of 85 million copies sold, pulling ahead of Wii Sports as the third best-selling game of all time.

Other games mentioned in the report included NBA 2K27, PGA Tour 2K27, WWE 2K27, Judas, and the next Bioshock title, all of which are in some form of development.
