Google’s most powerful image model, Gemini 2.5 Flash Image, nicknamed “Nano Banana”, is now part of Adobe Firefly and Photoshop beta. This means that designers will now have access to one of the most capable AI tools for precise, text-based edits and highly accurate prompt handling, all without leaving their favourite Adobe apps.
We all know that Nano Banana is a highly capable AI model. And now for designers, this integration could significantly streamline their creative workflow. For example, imagine quickly changing a background to a Sunny Beach or giving a photo 1970s retro vibe, all with a simple text prompt.
Photoshop beta users can now leverage Gemini 2.5 Flash Image via the generator fill tool. This allows multiple variations, refined edits, and greater creative freedom without disrupting the design process. Apart from that, complimentary generations are available until October 28; however, limits will vary by plan.

On the other hand, using Gemini 2.5 Flash Image in Firefly is straightforward. You just have to open the app, select text to image, choose Nano banana from the drop-down, upload or generate an image, and refine it with prompts. Once done, you can review the variations and download the result you like.
In my view, this is a meaningful step for both Adobe and Google. The combination of Adobe’s widely used creative tools with Google’s most advanced image AI gives designers capabilities that were hard to imagine just a year ago. It’s exciting to see how far AI-assisted creativity has come, and how much easier it’s making design work for professionals and hobbyists alike.
