'GMA3' subtly acknowledges ouster of Amy Robach, T.J. Holmes with new intro

NEW YORK — For the first time since their suspension in late 2022, there was no mention of “GMA3″ hosts Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes at the start of Monday’s program.

The pair have been away the from the show since early December following revelations they were involved romantically. They became “GMA3′s” anchors in Sept. 2020.

ABC News said Friday “all agreed it’s best for everyone that they move on from ABC News.”

A voiceover kicking-off Monday’s 1 p.m. show said only “Now from Times Square, here’s what you need to know.” At late as last Friday, the pre-recorded intro had included the names of the show’s former anchors along with their remaining co-host, Dr. Jennifer Ashton.

Holmes, 45, and Robach, 49, recently separated from their respective spouses of roughly 13 years.

“GMA3,” a spinoff of ABC’s popular “Good Morning America” program in described by the network as “a news, health and lifestyle program that also highlights incredible human stories of personal triumph.”

This week’s programming kicked off with interim co-host DeMarco Morgan talking about the Kansas City Chiefs punching their ticket to the Super Bowl with a win over the Cincinnati Bengals Sunday, then conducting business as usual, sans Holmes and Robach.

Robach, a Michigan native, spent nearly a decade at NBC News before moving to ABC in 2012. Holmes, who’s from Arkansas, worked for CNN, BET and MSNBC prior to joining ABC News in 2014.

ABC News has not announced future plans for “GMA3.”
