Glasgow parents can now register for Baby's First Christmas event

Glasgow parents hoping for a festive photo opportunity at City Chambers can now register for the annual Christmas event.

Baby’s First Christmas will see Glasgow's little ones receive a personalised certificate and keepsake memento. The first 250 wee tots who register for the event will be invited along on December 10 to pose for a picture with the Lord Provost.

Registration opened this morning (November 1) at 9am, and will see thousands of Glasgow’s infants invited along to City Chambers. While all will be welcomed in, those hoping to get a festive snap will need to register quickly.

Organised by Glasgow City Council, Baby’s First Christmas has been running since 2005 and has proved hugely popular with proud parents. Ahead of the event, the Lord Provost said: “Parents really look forward to Christmas with a new baby.

“I’m excited to meet our youngest citizens. It’s a truly magical occasion.”

Those unable to attend the event on December 10 will be invited to collect their gifts from the City Chambers before Christmas. Dates and times for collection are set to be advised by letter, if successful.

Glasgow City Council have also advised that only one registration per child will be accepted. Duplicate applications will be removed.

Parents can now register their baby online here.
