Glasgow Cathedral Street shut down as emergency services rush to ongoing incident

Emergency services have shut down a busy road in Glasgow city centre amid an ongoing incident.

Fire, police and ambulance services are currently in attendance at Cathedral Street near the applied sciences building of Strathclyde University this evening.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed to Glasgow Live that they were in attendance at the scene due to an ongoing incident.

Public transport has been forced to divert following the incident, with a number of bus services affected.

Stagecoach apologised for any delays, tweeting: "There’s a road closure on Cathedral Street, our x19, x25,x25a will be diverted via Baird Street, we will not be able to serve Cathedral Street, we're sorry for any delays, rest assured we’re trying to get to you as quickly as we can!"

Police Scotland has been contacted for comment.
