Gary Neville updates Premier League title prediction after Man City close gap on Arsenal

Update: Gary Neville - (The Gary Neville Podcast)

Gary Neville has updated his Premier League title race prediction after seeing Manchester City cut the gap to Arsenal to two points.

City were at their clinical best during Sunday's 3-0 win away at Crystal Palace, to win their fourth Premier League game on the spin.

Pep Guardiola's side were in London the day after watching Arsenal scrape past bottom-of-the-table Wolves 2-1 thanks to two own goals, with the winner coming in the final minute of second-half injury time.

The Gunners were viewed by many as cruising to the Premier League title, but have dropped seven points in their last five games, with the 94th-minute winner against Wolves preventing City from leapfrogging them over the weekend.

And Neville believes the eight-time Premier League winners will be "smelling blood" after seeing Arsenal falter.

Man City are smelling blood ... they've got that manager who is a prolific winner and a striker who is absolutely world class

"Manchester City have got [Erling] Haaland, Pep, a few more players who have got real quality and experience," Neville told Sky Sports.

"They’re probably smelling a little bit of blood; 'We’re on your shoulder, we’re coming, we’re going to be there in March, April – can you handle this?'.

"I think [Arsenal] are a better team than City and proved that in the first few months. But City are dangerous. They’ve got that manager who is a prolific winner, a striker who is absolutely world class – the player in the league that’s absolutely standout, a dream, what a player!

"They’ve got really dangerous characteristics, talent, potential to cause upsets."

He added: "I still think [the title] is Arsenal’s [to lose].

"Arsenal have got to get themselves mentally right for the next four or five months, such a huge moment for the club – and I still think they’ll do it."
