Gareth Gates says daughter Missy is his 'world' as he shares rare but adorable snap

Gareth Gates paid a sweet tribute to his little girl as he shared a rare picture of her online.

To mark International Women's Day, Gareth celebrated all the females in his life, including daughter Milly, 12, who he called his "world".

In a super cute display of affection, Gareth was seen hugging Missy and planting a kiss on her forehead in a boomerang shared to his Instagram story.

Gareth, who shares Missy with ex-wife Suzanne Mole, once vowed to keep her off social media as much as possible and said: "It’s not often I post photos of my little girl".

The 37-year-old has said that he wants Missy to grow up away from the spotlight, and when he split from her mum after 10 years, the former couple made it clear she was their biggest priority.

Gareth said in a statement at the time: "Despite our efforts over the past three years to make our marriage work, sadly Suzanne and I have decided to separate.

"Whilst we have grown apart, we love and cherish our wonderful daughter Missy and together we will prioritise her happy upbringing."

During his IWD celebrations, Gareth also paid tribute to his mum Wendy, sisters Jessica, Nicola and Charlotte and his girlfriend Chloe McLennan, who he began dating after the breakdown of his engagement to Corrie star Faye Brookes.

Last month, Gareth marked 20 years since his rise to fame on Pop Idol, when he finished in second place to champion Will Young.

Marking the occasion, Gareth took to Instagram to joke about being the UK's "biggest loser".

Sharing a string of snaps from that period of his life, he penned: "20 YEARS today, I became the UK’s biggest Loser!

"How has it been 20 years? It feels like yesterday I was stood on that stage with @willyoungofficial & @antanddec waiting for the results to come through..

"I owe everything to Pop Idol. Yes I worked hard on music well before going on the show (learning to play instruments and sing from the age of 8) but would a shy kid with a stammer from Bradford have made it in the music business without that platform and exposure? Probably not.

"It’s a good job @simoncowell liked me!

"Thank you to all that voted and for giving me the beautifully blessed life I still live today."
