Galatasaray vs Liverpool: Prediction, kick-off time, team news, TV, live stream, h2h results, odds today

Liverpool will be keen to put their last-minute disappointment at Crystal Palace behind them as attentions turn back to the Champions League, where they face Galatasaray.

The Reds were beaten by Eddie Nketiah’s late winner at Selhurst Park over the weekend, falling to their first league defeat of the campaign.

Arne Slot’s side still sit two points clear at the top of the table, having won all five of their other games in the English top flight.

In Europe, however, they were taken 12 rounds by Atletico Madrid on matchday one, needing an injury-time header from Virgil van Dijk to seal all three points against the La Liga outfit.

Andy Robertson and Mohamed Salah’s quickfire double salvo inside six minutes made many think that the Premier League champions would run riot at Anfield, but they were pegged back by Marcos Llorente’s brace.

That was until van Dijk rose highest to power home past Jan Oblak to secure a dramatic victory.

Galatasaray, meanwhile, were thrashed 5-1 in their opening Champions League game by Eintracht Frankfurt.

As such, the Super Lig side will be looking to harness their raucous home support to drum up an intimidating atmosphere for their Premier League opponents here.

Date, kick-off time and venue

Galatasaray vs Liverpool is scheduled for an 8pm BST kick off today, Tuesday, September 30, 2025.

The match will take place at RAMS Park in Istanbul.

Galatasaray vs Liverpool team news

Neither side have any serious injury concerns heading into this clash.

Liverpool will be without Giovanni Leoni, who was ruled out for a year last week after he ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament.

Furthermore, Federico Chiesa has been left out of the travelling squad with Arne Slot confirming the Italian is dealing with a little niggle sustained in the loss to Palace.

For the hosts, star striker Victor Osimhen made his return to action in a 1-0 victory over Alanyaspor on Friday having sustained an ankle injury on international duty with Nigeria.

Gala manager Okan Buruk said that he wanted Osimhen to “play for 10 minutes “and “experience the pain”, emphasising that “playing through pain is important”.

The Turkish side are so anxious to get their talisman back fit and firing that Buruk has tinkered his formation and tried to rush Osimhen back ahead of schedule.

“We may have changed our formation and had trouble covering the opposition,” he said. “However, we’re taking these risks to ensure he plays.”

Galatasaray vs Liverpool prediction

If Osimhen is not fully fit, that will give Liverpool more confidence in their chances of escaping a tempestuous atmosphere with victory.

The fact that Slot will be able to name a full-strength lineup will be welcome news to the Reds, who should have enough quality to put their Turkish opponents to the sword here.

Liverpool to win, 3-1.

Head to head (h2h) history and results

This is the first meeting between the two sides in nearly 20 years, as they traded home wins in the group phase during the 2006-07 season. Okan Buruk was on target for Gala in a 3-2 victory over Liverpool in December 2006.
