Free bike service and yoga at Bike Week celebration in Dublin city centre this weekend

Dublin City Council is hosting a cycling festival with lots of free events for Bike Week 2023 at Ringsend Park this Sunday.

The festival starts at 11am and will end at 4pm. There will be a free bike service for those whose bikes are in need of a bit of a tune up, along with a bike decoration station with bike tattoos. Festival-goers will also have the opportunity to try out e-bikes and cargo bikes, or take a ride on a trishaw or tandem bike.

Children and adults alike can learn some cycling specific stretches at the yoga sessions or test yourself on the pedal powered challenge at the Pedal Bike Station. There will also be fitness sessions for the whole family, cycling-themed storytelling events for the little ones, a "Bike DJ", and of course - delicious food and drink available to purchase.

There will also be a 5km family-friendly cycle through the city centre with Lord Mayor of Dublin Caroline Conroy. The cycle starts from Capel Street at 11.30am and finishes in Ringsend Park, where participants can enjoy the abovementioned fun events.

The Department of Transport-funded event aims to celebrate and promote the benefits of cycling as well as to promote a more sustainable urban mobility culture. This is why Dublin City Council is encouraging all attendees to walk or cycle to the event where possible with free bike parking available at the park.
