Forza Horizon 5: Best Cars in the Backstage Pass

While the Auto Show and Auctions help you add some epic rides to your collection, the Horizon backstage pass holds cars that are almost impossible to find elsewhere. This is because it offers only the finest vehicles based on community votes.

Since buying these collectibles is exclusive to Forza Horizon 5 Backstage Passes, it’s crucial to know which cars are worth spending your Passes on, as they don’t come in cheap. So, whether you are looking for a modern-day classic or a full-on track toy, I bring you the best cars sitting in the Horizon Backstage, waiting to be unleashed.

Toyota Sprinter Trueno GT AE86

  • Speed: 4.5
  • Handling: 4.0
  • Braking: 2.6
  • Rarity: EPIC

Almost everyone is aware of this JDM legend, thanks to its famous anime appearance in Initial D. The Toyota Sprinter is a cult classic in both anime and car culture, thanks to its insane drift capabilities and iconic pop-up headlights.

The car offers a perfect balance of power and handling, delivering enough juice to drift without making some serious tunes. With such a significant status in the automotive universe, this car is an excellent Backstage Pass investment. And, if you enjoy Forza Motorsports as well, this is a must-have. Rip it around Fujimi Kaido, where it truly feels like home.

Toyota GR Yaris 2021

Image: Playground Games
  • Speed: 5.2
  • Handling: 5.1
  • Braking: 4.9
  • Rarity: EPIC

The second-best Toyota on this list, the GR Yaris, is a rally car for the road. It was a result of the WRC Homologation requirements, which Toyota had to fulfill to compete in the rally series.

GR Yaris’s impressive on-road and off-road capabilities not only make it one of the easiest cars to drive in the game, but also a perfect barn find hunt. So, if you are looking for a hot hatch, don’t think twice about spending a Backstage Pass on this ride.

Nissan Z 2023

Image: Playground Games
  • Speed: 7.0
  • Handling: 5.6
  • Braking: 4.5
  • Rarity: RARE

Nissan Z models are synonymous with remarkable performance. While Nissan remained silent after the release of the Nismo 370Z, they finally answered the fans with a new Z in August 2021, almost a decade later. With the blink of an eye, this car became the talk of the industry and did a great job of living up to its hype.

Due to this, I recommend that you unlock this car if road racing and drifting are your preference. Its near-perfect weight distribution, rear wheel drive layout, and a smooth 400-horsepower V6 helps you dodge a lot of challenging races, while the modern retro design ensures you light up every lobby you join.

Alpine A110 2017

Image: Playground Games
  • Speed: 6.0
  • Handling: 5.8
  • Braking: 4.2
  • Rarity: EPIC

After 1977, Alpine was down and out until they revived the brand and the A110 in 2017. The all-new refresh blends the original design with modern features and aerodynamics, making it one of the best French mid-engine sports cars money can buy.

In Forza Horizon 5, the A110 follows the same tradition and remains absent from regular auto shows or auctions. Exchanging this car with a Backstage Pass is a wise decision to inform other players of your unique taste in cars as you cruise around the streets of Mexico.

Audi RS7 Sportback 2021

Image: Playground Games
  • Speed: 7.4
  • Handling: 5.7
  • Braking: 4.9
  • Rarity: RARE

Arguably one of the best German sports sedans, the RS7 Sportback delivers immaculate speed and handling thanks to its 4.0L twin-turbocharged V8 and Audi’s famous Quattro All-Wheel-Drive system. As a result, this car can take tight corners and chicanes with confidence while keeping the ride smooth and planted to the tarmac.

If you prioritize high-speed sprints and highway domination, or just want to flex something on the BMW M4 players, this is the car you want to spend your hard-earned Backstage Pass on.

McLaren 765LT

Image: Playground Games
  • Speed: 8.1
  • Handling: 7.4
  • Braking: 9.4
  • Rarity: EPIC

Even though the 720S was already a monster on wheels, McLaren cooked up a 765LT to go beyond. Built to dominate road and track, this car is more powerful, lighter, and aerodynamically superior than the original. Unlocking race car-level performance numbers while maintaining enough practicality to remain road-legal, the car is truly a work of art.

With just 765 units ever made, it’s a rare car to own, not just in real life but in the game as well. Personally, it’s my go-to car against the trickiest races in Mexico as this McLaren makes them look easy. That said, spending a Backstage Pass here will be something you’d never regret.

Porsche 911 GT3 2021

Image: Playground Games
  • Speed: 7.4
  • Handling: 7.7
  • Braking: 8.2
  • Rarity: EPIC

Porsche never fails to disappoint with its 911 models, and when it comes to the latest entry, even non-car enthusiasts consider it their dream car. This is solely because of the iconic design and motorsports significance, as with every 911 GT3, Porsche aims to reflect their on-track performance on regular roads.

With a 4.0-liter naturally aspirated flat-six sitting behind, that revs up to 9000 RPM, this car delivers immense power. It’s also a treat to the ears, as the revs sound like Mozart on the piano. Grabbing one from the Horizon Backstage should definitely be on your to-do list.

Lamborghini Aventador J 2012

Image: Playground Games
  • Speed: 7.9
  • Handling: 6.4
  • Braking: 7.1
  • Rarity: EPIC

Although the Aventador S and the SVJ both exist in the Backstage, the reason Aventador J holds a notable spot on this list is its unusual design and rarity. This vehicle is officially one of the rarest Aventadors, with just 1 unit ever produced, and thanks to its open-top, windshield-less setup, it never fails to turn heads.

Powered by the same 6.5L naturally aspirated V12 and all-wheel-drive system, the J isn’t just a looker, but a devil on four wheels. For someone who prefers to collect rare and unique-looking models, getting the Aventador J is perfect.

Pagani Huayra BC Coupe 2016

Image: Playground Games
  • Speed: 8.4
  • Handling: 8.3
  • Braking: 10
  • Rarity: LEGENDARY

Every Pagani is a thing of its own, but the Huayra BC holds immense value as Horacio Pagani built it as a tribute to his close friend and first customer, Benny Caiola. The BC stands as the most wanted vehicle for every car collector and rarely makes it out of their wishlist.

The car is just as hard to get in Forza Horizon 5, due to its absence from the Auto Shows. Even if you find it at an auction, you’ll need to pay millions of credits. Your best bet? Spend a Backstage Pass on a Huayra BC and thank me later.

Gordon Murray Automotive T.50 2022

Image: Playground Games
  • Speed: 8.0
  • Handling: 8.5
  • Braking: 10
  • Rarity: LEGENDARY

Last but not least, this one is the craziest of all and something I’d blindly put my Passes on, a thousand times if I could. A creation of Gordon Murray, an automotive mastermind, the T.50 is heavily inspired by the legendary McLaren F1. Since the F1 was Gordon’s doing, he somehow managed to beat his best work, making T.50 one of the exemplary modern cars.

Behind the driver lies a 3.9-liter naturally aspirated Cosworth V12 that revs up to 12,000 RPM, screaming louder than any other road-legal car from the factory. Just between the taillights sits a literal fan — yes, a 400mm fan that sucks the car to the tarmac by creating an insane amount of downforce. With a steering wheel in the center like a Formula 1 car, and a 6-speed manual transmission, the GMA T.50 is a delight to drive and is easily the best car from the Horizon Backstage Shop.
