First look as McDonald's opens high tech new restaurant in Maghull

A swanky new McDonald's restaurant has opened in Maghull today.

The new venue, based on old Meadow Road, is a welcome addition to the area and has come about after significant investment from local franchisee Mark Blundell. The 24/7 single storey restaurant boasts the newest technology to ensure a smoother, faster experience for food loving customers.

The restaurant is open for dine-in, takeaway, Drive-Thru, delivery services and 'Click and Serve'. It will also create more than 100 new full and part-time jobs for the local community.

The Echo visited the new site, which is complete with stylish, oversized herringbone flooring and calming pale wood bench seating and matching feature walls, alongside modern bar stools and bars for customers to sit at and watch the world go by. There's elements of black and grey accentuated with pops of vibrant yellow - a nod to the iconic golden arches.

Franchisee Mark Blundell, who operates 13 restaurants in Liverpool, said: "We are delighted to be opening another brand new McDonald's restaurant in Liverpool and can't wait to see local Maghull customers, both new and old, enjoy our services on offer.

"People are at the heart of our business, and we look forward to welcoming new employees with the jobs our restaurant will create. We're committed to investing in opportunities for a mix of all ages, life stages and backgrounds, promoting flexibility and equality."

The new restaurant will offer table service and self-ordering kiosks, and boasts an outside patio area with a children's play area and a drive through with Smart Digital Drive-Thru menu boards. In response to growing demand for greater speed, efficiency and choice when placing food orders, McDonald's has introduced its 'Convenience of the Future' restaurant revamp programme.

This will combine a new restaurant layout with the latest technology in a bid to create a more seamless and enjoyable experience for customers. 200 restaurants have already seen upgrades, with 800 planned over the next four years.

Some of the key innovations McDonald's will be rolling out through its Convenience of the Future programme includes redesigned front counters to enhance space and reduce congestion; a dedicated courier waiting area and entrance; and new kitchen designs complete with a larger order assembly area and dedicated areas to prepare McDelivery and dine in orders.

There'll also be an improved car park layout with a separate parking area for couriers, and modified traffic routes to improve circulation around the restaurant so it's much easier for Drive-Thru and Click and Collect customers to get their order; as well as improved break spaces, with redesigned crew rooms to create a more relaxing and comfortable space for crew to take a well-deserved break.

McDonald's Maghull is based on Old Meadow Road, just off the M58 and part of the euro garage site. You can apply for a job here.
