Experts have warned against using a TikTok cleaning hack as it could end up costing hundreds of pounds in repairs.
The bathroom is usually one of the most used rooms in the house and can be an uphill struggle to keep clean, especially with larger families.
Social media platform TikTok is full of hacks to make cleaning your home quicker and easier, but Evan Jones from Bathroom Supastore warned against using a viral bathroom trick as it could 'cost hundreds of pounds in repairs and be deadly to pets'.

The hack involves using a multi-purpose cleaner, making a hole in the bottle and then placing this cleaner into your toilet tank. The process will then slowly release the cleaner into the cistern.
Evan said: "The hack does work to an extent, as the cleaning solution is released into your toilet cleaning away any germs or waste in the process. The whole bathroom also smells better as you can get these cleaners in a variety of fragrances.
"That being said, you shouldn't be placing any cleaning products in your cistern as over time it will cause damage to your system. We have seen many variations of this hack including using washing up liquid or bleach tablets and they all cause the same problems.
"Putting any cleaning solutions in the toilet tank will cause damage to the plastic and rubber parts in your toilet system such as the gaskets, the fill valve and the toilet flapper."
While it may seem that an all-purpose cleaner couldn't do a lot of damage, replacing parts in your toilet system can be costly.
Evan added: "Replacing any of the smaller parts inside your toilet could cost you over £300 once you pay the plumber so you should never put any cleaning products into your tank and keep them for the bowl instead."
Household cleaners are also dangerous to dogs when inhaled or consumed even in the smallest amounts. While your dog shouldn't drink from the toilet, it's more common than you may think.
Dog trainer Karen Adlam said: "Dogs by nature are scavengers that will search out for food and water and if your dog is thirsty and the toilet is left open then they will drink from it.
"Cleaning products that are used in the bathroom are extremely dangerous to dogs and can cause burns, ulceration, breathing problems and death if ingested. To avoid this from happening you should always leave the lid down and close the bathroom door when you aren't around."
