Everything that will be closed during the Queen's funeral as supermarkets and shops pay respects

The nation will halt and pay respects to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II tomorrow.

The Queen will be laid to rest on Monday in London with many staff and workers being given the day off to pay their respects.

Her Majesty's state funeral at Westminster Abbey will be attended by some 2,000 people and is expected to be watched by billions worldwide.

The occasion has been declared a bank holiday and many shops in Ayrshire and beyond have announced that they will be closing their doors for the day.

Supermarkets

Asda will close from midnight this evening and reopen tomorrow at 5pm once the service has concluded. All deliveries will be halted during this time.

Tesco announced that larger stores will be closed tomorrow but smaller shops will be open from 5pm to 10pm.

Co-op stores will be closed but reopen at 5pm.

Aldi, Lidl, M&S, Sainsbury's will all be closed on Monday. Morrisons stores will also be shut but petrol stations will reopen from 5pm.

Shops

Argos, B&Q, Currys, Holland & Barrett, Homebase, Primark, Specsavers, Sports Direct and Wilko will all be closed tomorrow.

Lloyds and Well pharmacies will be shut all day, while other chemists such as Boots will close during the hours of the funeral.

Entertainment and hospitality

All Odeon cinemas will be closed. Cineworld and Showcase cinemas will also be closed. However, Vue cinemas will be open in selected locations to screen the funeral.

However, if you do fancy a cinema trip, Premier Leisure in Saltcoats is open as normal all day tomorrow.

The Galleon leisure centre in Kilmarnock, along with all KA Leisure venues in North Ayrshire (The Portal, Auchenharvie, Vikingar!), and Ayr's Citadel will all be closed tomorrow.

Pub chain Greene King, who own Drouthy Neebors in Ayr and Largs, along with The Carrick in Irvine, will be open tomorrow.

Most Wetherspoon pubs will open later than usual, after the state funeral, at approximately 1pm, and will then remain open for their normal trading hours.
