Everton and Liverpool have both been charged by the Football Association for failing to control their players and benches during Monday’s Merseyside derby.
The two clubs have been charged for an incident that occurred in the closing stages of the match at Anfield. Players and staff from both sides were involved in the fracas.
It all started when Andy Robertson kicked the ball away after being flagged offside, leading to a retaliation from Jordan Pickford. An outraged Conor Coady then appeared to grab Robertson by the neck as both sets of players became involved.

Soon the substitutes on both benches ran down the touchline as the Anfield noise heightened. Amadou Onana and Konstantinos Tsimikas also had a coming together.
“Liverpool and Everton have been charged following a mass confrontation during the 86th minute of their Premier League match on Monday 13 February," a statement from the Football Association released on Thursday afternoon read.
“It is alleged that both clubs failed to ensure their players and/or benches conducted themselves in an orderly fashion and/or refrained from provocative behaviour. Liverpool and Everton have until Monday 20 February to provide responses to their charges.”
Everton were swept aside by their local rivals after goals from Mohamed Salah and Cody Gakpo wrapped up a 2-0 win on the night for Jurgen Klopp's side. Salah put the Reds ahead after 36 minutes when he finished a fine counter-attacking move before Gakpo added a second when he tapped into an empty net four minutes into the second-half.
The defeat left Sean Dyche’s side inside the relegation zone, while Liverpool remain in ninth, nine points behind fourth-placed Newcastle United - although the Reds do have a game in hand on Eddie Howe’s men.
