Emmerdale's Jeff Hordley shares hopes for Cain and Caleb as he teases Super Soap Week

Emmerdale actor Jeff Hordley has said he hopes Cain and Caleb Dingle and come together in a "positive way" after Caleb's recent plot was foiled.

The ITV soap recently saw Caleb (played by Will Ash) spin out of control as he secretly planned to take the money in Home Farm's accounts.

However, his plan was foiled after Caleb's son Nicky refused to take the fall for the scam.

The plot was then exposed as Kim announced she had discovered Caleb's plan.

Soon after Caleb suffered a horrific fall after he was pushed by his son Nicky – leaving his future relationship with his brother up in the air as he recovers.

Fans will have to wait and see what the Emmerdale writers have in store for Cain and Caleb.

However, in an exclusive chat with the Mirror on the red carpet of the TRIC Awards yesterday, Cain actor Jeff Hordley shared hopes of a "positive" outcome for the brothers.

He told the Mirror: "I don't know where it's going to go but I'm hoping that the two come together at some point in a positive way and they work together because that would be nice to see them work together.

"I think, possibly, there will always be friction but I do think Caleb's intentions are really honourable I think he wants to help his brother, he wants to befriend his brother but he just keeps making the wrong moves."

Jeff, 53, added: "He was going to take the farm off Kim and then give them the money back – if he'd told them that in the first place we might be in a different position now but Cain's not very trusting of him."

Despite the brothers being at war, Jeff revealed he enjoys working with Cain actor Will, 46,

When asked what it's like working on the recent storylines, he said: "It's just amazing because as soon as I heard it was Will coming into play the part – we were at school together and done plays together in the past and he's a good friend of mine so it's been amazing to have him on set and work with him again so it's been a joy. It's really put some fresh life into Cain and this Cain-Caleb thing and I think the characters work.

"I think Caleb's working really well he's grounded, I think Will brings gravitas to the show so I think we're really lucky to have him on board."

Elsewhere in the chat, the Cain Dingle star teased the upcoming Super Soap Week, which has become a highlight of the year for Emmerdale and Corrie fans.

He teased: "I don't know what's going on – I think we're going to get the scripts really soon. I heard it's meant to be fantastic so, it always is."

Jeff added: "My favourite Super Soap Week was the Hotten Bypass car crash, that was brilliant so it would be great if we could try and replicate that at some point in the future. I don't think it's going to be this year but I think something like that, the storytelling in that was just magnificent."
