Emmerdale fans spot epic blunder as villagers suspect Meena has kidnapped Billy and Dawn

Emmerdale fans have been left fuming by the village residents' blunder - as they waited for Billy and Dawn at their wedding reception.

Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) and Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) tied the knot during sweet scenes in yesterday's episode of the ITV soap, but it was, of course, all good to be true as evil serial killer Meena Jutla (Paige Sandhu) kidnapped the bride and groom.

Taking them to a viaduct, she held the pair hostage and threatened to kill one of them in one of her 'games', as she asked new groom Billy to choose between sacrificing himself or letting Meena kill his bride Dawn.

However, fans of the ITV soap have been left feeling frustrated as the guests - who were waiting for Billy and Dawn at their wedding reception at Home Farm - failed to act, despite expecting Meena was the one behind the kidnap.

Rushing into the room, Priya told them the limo driver - who they had just thought was lost - had been attacked earlier in the morning and his vehicle was stolen from him.

When one of the villagers suggested it could be Dawn's ex behind it, Will Taylor - Dawn's dad - was quick to defend him, after finding out during yesterday's episode that it couldn't have been him who ruined the wedding dress.

"What if it's Meena?" a worried Charles asked, before rushing off to go and check on Manpreet.

Will revealed that Harriet wasn't picking up either, as Rhona urged them all not to worry. "We all just need to try and stay calm," she told them," before adding: "Although maybe we should call the police?"

As Priya started to worry about Leyla, the camera switched between the other villagers' worried faces.

However, none of them call the police (ITV)

However, fans were left fuming - as no one reached for their phone to call the police.

"They ain’t phoned the police yet # emmerdale," one wrote.

A second added: "They're actually debating calling the cops Smh thickos #Emmerdale," as a third shared: "This is just absolute rot now #emmerdale."

*Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7pm on ITV.
