Emergency services were called out to a major road in Northumberland on Monday night after a truck caught fire.

The blaze broke out on the A69 eastbound before Styford roundabout near Corbridge and Stocksfield, with the road being closed temporarily while Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service and Northumbria Police dealt with the blaze.

The fire service confirmed that two firefighters in two engines from Hexham worked to extinguish the blaze, using two hose reels and breathing apparatus for protection.
