Edinburgh police officers stopped a driver on the A720 City Bypass yesterday who was almost five times the legal driving limit.
A spokesperson took to Twitter yesterday to announce that a joint effort by officers from Livingston and Dalkeith Road Police had stopped the vehicle after it was spotted driving erratically.
They driver was then tested and observed to have exceeded the legal limit for alcohol by five times the limit.

They said: "Officers from #LivingstonRP & #DalkeithRP paired up last night. They observed a vehicle being driven poorly on the A720.
"The driver provided a roadside reading of 125ug/100ml of breath (limit is 22ug).
"Driver arrested & later provided a lower reading of 99ug/100ml of breath."
Other Twitter users lined up to criticise the driver.
One said: "That’s a ridiculous state to think you can drive in! Another idiot off the road."
The Scottish Government recently issued advice for drivers, informing them why they cannot have a complete zero tolerance approach.
They say: "Any alcohol impairs driving.
"But it would be unfair to have a zero limit. There's more than one reason why drivers could have alcohol in their body other than from drinking.
"These reasons can vary for each person.
"You could have traces of alcohol in your body even though it's been some time since you've had a drink and there's little alcohol actually left in your body.
"You could even consume alcohol without knowing it. Some foods, mouthwash and medications can contain alcohol.
"Many things can also affect how quickly your body gets rid of alcohol. This includes weight, age and your sex.
"The limit helps police take action against those drivers who have drunk alcohol which has then impaired their driving.
