EastEnders' James Bye tears up as he receives family message amid tough Strictly schedule

James Bye teared up as he received a video message from his family amid his tough Strictly Come Dancing schedule.

The EastEnders star has been busy filming for the BBC One soap as well as rehearsing day and night for his stint on the Latin and ballroom show. His busy schedule has meant its been tough for him to balance his dance rehearsals and filming for the soap with spending time with his family including his three kids - Edward, aged eight, Louis, six, and Hugo, three.

James appeared on Strictly: It Takes Two tonight to chat about his and Amy Dowden's Guardians of the Galaxy dance. For the routine, the actor dressed as Chris Pratt's character Star-Lord while Amy painted herself green to look like Gamora.

The actor cried today as he was shown a sweet video message from his three children and his wife Victoria. In the sweet video message, they said: "Daddy you are the best dance ever. You're our favourite superhero. We love you so so much. Good luck daddy."

James couldn't contain his tears as he was left speechless by the video. "Well you know like - I'm so sorry. They watch at home and they're so supportive. I'm so lucky to have that support at home," he said.

He opened up about his busy schedule as he revealed how he'd explain Martin Fowler's sudden tan on the BBC One soap.

"I've just put a line in that I've been down to the beach for the weekend. I can't not have a spray tan, you're on Strictly, you've got to have a spray tan whether you like it or not," he told the Express of his idea to explain Martin's new look.

James also explained how bosses have been trying to help reduce his hectic filming schedule amid Strictly rehearsals.

"I have been getting two hours of training in the morning and sometimes another two in the evening," he added, "I have a quick chat with Victoria and go to bed. As soon as my body hits the pillow I am out. Hopefully next week or the week after it will lighten."

James had also previously opened up how he and his wife are not concerned about the Strictly 'curse'.

"We weren't really able to organise anything for our landmark wedding anniversary this year because of schedules," he said, "But at the beginning of next year we are going to take the family out to where Victoria and I had our honeymoon and we are going to renew our vows on the beach in front of everybody. We're really looking forward to that. It [the curse] has not really come up for us. It's one of those things attached to the show but being a part of it, I genuinely don't see any of that."
