But an application has been lodged to turn the space into a grocery shop.

The proposed development by Raltaf Limited would see a “Change of use from existing pub to new retail convenience store to include a new off licence and deli area for the sale of hot food and intoxicating liquor for consumption off the premises,” according to the plans.

Tom Maye, who is the owner of Mayes pub, has consented to the application for change of use for the site.

The application was lodged on May 19, and the last day to submit observations is June 22, 2022.
