Dublin couple search for woman who recorded romantic proposal at the Bord Gais

Newly engaged Dublin woman Holly Fogarty is searching for the woman who recorded the moment she was proposed to by her partner Ricky at the Bord Gais Energy Theatre on Thursday, February 10.

A woman took a video of the proposal, but Holly believes she gave her the wrong phone number amid all the excitement.

A picture of the elated couple hugging after it happened was posted to Twitter with calls to find the woman in the background who can be seen taking a video on her phone.

Speaking to Dublin Live, Holly revealed that she thinks the woman's name is Eden.

She said: "As far as I remember, the woman's name was Eden. I gave her my phone number but I'm nearly sure I gave her the wrong one."

Explaining how it all happened, Holly revealed that Les Miserable is her all time favourite musical, making the proposal "so special".

She said: "We've talked about it before but I didn't really have a clue that he was going to do it then and there.

"We were in the front row so I was already buzzing with myself. We got to the intermission and we went outside for a while and came back in. We were both standing there, he was just talking to me and then he grabbed both my hands and looked at me and I thought "no way".

"I kind of knew because he was really serious. He grabbed my hands, got down on one knee with the ring and it was kind of like the whole place didn't really exist for five whole seconds. It just went dead silent.

"I said yes and we just heard everyone cheering and clapping.

"The intermission was 20 minutes long and he did it about ten minutes in. I thought "Oh my god, I need a drink" but the bar was closed. After the interval, the intercom tells you there's a few minutes to take your seats but it said "Congratulations to the young couple who just got engaged."

"We went straight to Spoons afterwards. Then we ended up doing karaoke in Bray with my parents."

The photo of the engagement was posted to Twitter and got a huge reaction after Holly shared it in a musical theatre page on Facebook.

"I did not expect it to get the response that it has. Me and Rickey are watching my phone blowing up," Holly explained.
