Sylvester Stallone has marked 29 years of marriage to Jennifer Flavin with a heartfelt social media tribute.
Nearly three years after the couple briefly split and appeared headed for divorce, the 79-year-old Rocky star shared a photograph of himself and Jennifer, 57, embracing in an armchair as the couple toasted the 17 May anniversary of their 1997 wedding.
Sylvester and Jennifer first met at a restaurant in 1988 before building one of Hollywood’s longest-running celebrity marriages.
Together they share daughters Sophia Stallone, 29, Sistine Stallone, 27, and Scarlet Stallone, 24, all of whom appeared alongside their parents in the family reality series The Family Stallone on Paramount+.
Sylvester wrote on Instagram alongside the snap of him and Jennifer celebrating: “Happy anniversary, you give my life meaning!”
Jennifer replied in the comments section: “I love you, you are my everything!”
Sistine also marked the occasion by sharing throwback photographs of the couple on Instagram Stories alongside the caption: “29 years today (wedding ring emoji.)”
The anniversary arrives after a turbulent period in the pair’s relationship.
In August 2022, Jennifer filed for divorce from Sylvester after 25 years of marriage, alleging in court documents the actor had engaged in the “intentional dissipation, depletion and/or waste” of marital assets.
But the couple reconciled only weeks later, later admitting they had reassessed priorities within their marriage.
Sylvester told The Hollywood Reporter after the reconciliation: “(I) put the work ahead of (my family), and that is a tragic mistake which won’t happen again.”
The actor has remained one of Hollywood’s most recognisable action stars for almost five decades through franchises including Rocky, Rambo and The Expendables.
More recently, Sylvester has enjoyed renewed success with the Tulsa King steaming series, which became one of Paramount+’s breakout hits and helped introduce him to a younger television audience.
The Family Stallone also offered viewers a more personal look at the actor’s home life, including discussions about ageing, family tensions and relocating from Los Angeles to Florida.
According to Robb Report, the family sold their compound in Hidden Hills for $17 million in 2023 before moving permanently to Florida.
During an episode of The Family Stallone, Sylvester admitted he was initially reluctant to leave California.
He said: “It’s not easy for me to leave California. But Jennifer really had her heart set on it. I gave in.”
Sylvester is also father to sons Seargeoh Stallone, 46, and Sage Stallone, who died in 2012 aged 36, from his first marriage to Sasha Czack, 75.
The actor has frequently spoken in recent years about wanting to spend more time with his family following decades balancing blockbuster film careers with home life.
