Driver dies after one vehicle crash in Perth and Kinross as police appeal for witnesses

Police are appealing for witnesses after a motorist died in a fatal crash in Perth and Kinross on Saturday.

The incident happened on a country road around 17 miles outside of Dundee on the B954 between Alyth and Meigle around 5pm on Saturday, April 29, and involved a grey Porsche 911 Carrera.

Emergency services attended, however a 47-year-old man, the driver of the car, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say no other vehicles were involved.

The road was closed between Alyth and Meigle while a full crash investigation was carried out and re-opened around 12pm on Sunday.

Sergeant Kevin Wilkie, of Perth Road Policing Unit, said: “Our enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing and our thoughts are with the driver’s family at this difficult time.

“I would urge anyone who witnessed the crash or saw the car prior to the incident to get in touch.”

Anyone with information should contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident 2602 of 29 April, 2023.
