Shocking video footage shows the moment police dragged a man to safety after he fell unconscious during Tommy Robinson’s ‘Unite the Kingdom’ march.
An estimated 110,000 to 150,000 protesters showed up for the march in central London on Saturday, in what is being considered the biggest right-wing protest in British history.

The counter-protest was set up by the group Stand Up To Racism, which gathered at the other end of Whitehall, near Trafalgar Square.
The rally began peacefully, with protesters voicing anger over free speech and the small boats crisis, but descended into violence when they clashed with counter-protesters in Whitehall.

The Metropolitan Police condemned the “significant aggression” faced by officers as they tried to manage the event, with some being assaulted and pelted with missiles.
At least 25 people were arrested and 26 officers injured, four of them seriously. One video shows seven officers dragging a man to safety after he was left on the ground as violence erupted.

Officers on police horses surrounded the man as they tried to keep violence under control. Two officers on foot ran to rescue the man. The victim – who was black – can be seen hiding and cowering on the floor after being kicked.
Many protesters wearing St George’s and Union Jack flags can be heard chanting as the protest reached its climax.
Police officers said they struggled to keep activists from breaching their lines and gaining access to counter-protesters, who they had surrounded.
As violence escalated between protesters and police, police drew batons in response - before projectiles were thrown and officers were assaulted.
The force struggled to contain the violence and, by 4.30pm, was forced to call in reinforcements, including mounted officers on horseback.
They later said that “a number of officers have been assaulted” and that police were having to “intervene in multiple locations” to stop Unite The Kingdom protesters from reaching “sterile areas” and counter-protestors.
