The IMD has issued a yellow alert in Delhi for Friday and has forecast a generally cloudy sky with light to moderate rain, thunderstorms, lightning, and strong gusty winds across the national capital.
The IMD predicted that towards the morning or forenoon, a spell of very light to light rain is expected, which will be accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds travelling at speeds of 40-50 km/h with gusts reaching up to 60 km/h.
A second similar spell of very light to light rain is anticipated later towards the afternoon or evening, which will also bring thunderstorms, lightning, and strong, gusty winds of the same intensity.

On Thursday night, hunderstorms accompanied by rain and strong winds swept across parts of Delhi, bringing much-needed relief from the heat. Gusty winds lashed many parts of Delhi, Noida and Gurgaon while lightning illuminated the sky, and rain was reported from several locations.
Noida, Gurugram, Ghaziabad weather
The neighbouring areas of Delhi like Noida, Gurgaon and Ghaziabad are likely to see partly cloudy skies with one or two spells of rain and thunderstorms today. The weather conditions might see an improvement after June 15, the IMD forecast said.
According to weather experts, the sudden change in weather conditions has been triggered by a cyclonic circulation over central Pakistan and adjoining areas, which has enhanced atmospheric instability over northwest India, including Delhi-NCR.
The weather activity is expected to intensify from Friday as the system gains strength, increasing the likelihood of thunderstorms, rain and strong winds across the region.
The prevailing conditions are also expected to bring relief from the heat, with temperatures likely to dip over the next few days under the influence of cloud cover and rainfall.
