Darren McCurry lucky to avoid red card as Red Hands suffer defeat to Kerry

Tyrone's Darren McCurry was lucky not to be sent off as Tyrone crashed out of the All-Ireland on Saturday.

The Red Hands suffered defeat to Kerry in their All-Ireland quarter-final clash at Croke Park, with the Kingdom running out winners by 2-18 to 0-12 in the end.

But towards the end of the game, McCurry punched Kerry's Graham O'Sullivan in the stomach, although the incident went unnoticed by the referee and his officials.

Former Armagh player Aaron Kernan was on co-commentary for GAAGO and said: "He's extremely lucky there. I'm not sure how the linesman didn't see it but had it been seen, it was a straight red card."

Kerry are now 6/5 favourites with the bookies to lift the Sam Maguire again this year following Saturday's victory.
