Growing up on the cold, wet island of Ireland and only owning a motorcycle meant it didn’t matter what season it was because I had to ride. No choice about it. So, you can imagine how much money I invested in waterproof, thermal gear.
Well, if you guessed “zero”, you’d be right, because I was a poor college student, and it wasn’t until I had a “real” job that I bought some adventure gear and had my perspective about riding in bad weather reinforced.
There’s no such thing as the wrong weather to ride in; you’re just not in the right gear. And in that same vein, anyone who needs some extra incentive to throw a leg over in the worst weather needs to check out Dainese’s new Winter/Fall 2025 touring/adv collection.
The Gullfoss D-Dry Jacket and Pants come in men’s and women’s specific fits and, like everything from this collection, are supposed to provide all-weather protection, although it’s the lightest option. The D-Dry waterproof membrane and removable thermal liner are there to keep you warm and dry on frosty mornings, but should things heat up, there’s an adjustable ventilation system. The jacket will set you back $449, and the pants cost $369.

Stepping up the protection in every sense is the Carve Master 4 Jacket and Pants, which are also available in men’s and women’s specific fits. This gear is intended for riders who want to transition seamlessly between on-road touring and off-road exploration. Protection from the elements is upgraded, thanks to the multi-layer construction, waterproof Gore-Tex membrane, but a removable thermal lining and one-hand activated ventilation systems keep temperatures under your control.
Crash protection is what you’d expect from a product at this high price point, as both pieces of gear are AA class certified and equipped with ventilated Pro-Armor Level 2 protectors, as you’d expect from a jacket that costs $729 and pants that retail for $559. The jacket is compatible with the Dainese Smart Air airbag with D-air.

The flagship of Dainese’s Winter/Fall collection is the Mangen Absoluteshell Pro Jacket and Pants, and, like the rest of the updated gear for 2025, this jacket and pant combo also comes in men’s and women’s specific fit. Dainese described the Mangen Absoluteshell Pro as “the pinnacle of technical riding gear, engineered for extreme conditions and maximum protection.”
The laminated construction houses a CE-certified armor system and features enhanced abrasion resistance in critical zones. Unlike the rest of the Winter/Fall adventure gear, the Mangen Absoluteshell Pro line doesn’t feature a removable thermal lining, but instead has a thermal management system. “Maximum protection” doesn’t come cheap, however, as if you want both the jacket and pants, you’ll need to fork out a total of $1,218 ($719 for the jacket and $499 for the pants).

Finally, you can’t be covered head to toe without a helmet. Enter the AGV AX9- Steppa Carbon/Red/Blue. This model features everything you’d find on a standard AX9, such as a carbon fiber shell, wide field of vision, ECE 22.06 safety certification, and a dual-sport design with removable peak visor. But, unlike the standard AGV AX9, it comes with a loud color scheme that ensures no one would lose you on a crowded street, but it’ll set you back $769.

All the products listed above are available right now through authorized Dainese retailers and online, through this link. But will any of the gear find its way into your closet this winter? Let us know in the comments.
