D2C snack brand Open Secret raises Rs 50 crore funding

Clean snacking brand Open Secret has raised Rs 50 crore from Desai Brothers Group and through institutional debt, with the primary equity component amounting to Rs 30 crore.

Founded in 2019, Open Secret is a direct-to-consumer (D2C) food brand building what it claims are guilt-free alternatives to cookies, biscuits, chips, protein snacks, and more.

The company plans to use the funding to expand its offline footprint, launch new products and deploy AI agents in its supply chain.

Open Secret is present on online platforms, its own D2C channels and offline stores across multiple cities and plans to launch more products such as chips and namkeen (savouries). It competes with the likes of Snackible, The Whole Truth, True Elements and others.

"The demand for healthy snacks is significantly outpacing supply, and we are moving quickly to bridge that gap. The partnership with Desai Brothers Group provides the manufacturing and distribution leverage required for efficient scaling. Our goal is to hit Rs 1,000 crore ARR within three years, all while maintaining our profitability," said Ahana Gautam, the company's founder & CEO, in a statement.

The Mumbai-based company crossed Rs 200 crore ARR this month and is growing at 10% month on month. In FY26, it clocked Rs 150 crore operating revenue, Gautam told ET, adding, "A big focus area for us to continue the growth momentum while maintaining the financial discipline. Last financial year we also achieved operating cash flow breakeven."

Currently, 60-65% of the brand's sales come from quick commerce platforms, about 25% from ecommerce, and the rest is from offline stores.

"The offline channel is a big priority for us now. We have just started a partnership with Reliance and DMart, so we are present in over 500 stores offline," Gautam said.

"Open Secret stands out with its ‘Unjunking’ philosophy, meeting the growing demand for healthier, more transparent food choices without compromising on taste. We look forward to supporting the founders not just with capital, but also by sharing our experience in building and scaling consumer businesses," said Sheetal Navani, managing director, Desai Brothers Ltd.
