
A cyclist aged in her 20s has died in a collision with a lorry in a busy main road in south London.
The driver of the lorry involved was arrested at the scene of the crash in Kennington on Wednesday on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
Police said emergency services were called to Kennington Park Road at 10.56am following reports of a serious collision involving a lorry and cyclist.
The London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance were scrambled to the scene.
The female cyclist was treated by paramedics. Despite their efforts, she died shortly after their arrival.
Her next-of-kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage to come forward.

“Though we have made an arrest it is vital we try to build up a full picture of this incident. We are urging anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has any relevant information to come forward and speak to police - particularly anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage.”
