Constance Wu secretly welcomes baby boy with partner Ryan Kattner

Constance Wu has welcomed her second child, a baby boy, with partner Ryan Kattner.

The 41-year-old actress, who announced her pregnancy in February on Instagram, confirmed in a new interview that she had given birth to their second child and has admitted “nobody knew” about it.

In a teaser clip for the PRETTYSMART podcast, the Hustlers actress told host Danielle Robay: “Breaking news. Nobody knew I had a son.”

The Crazy Rich Asians star was prompted to discuss her new arrival after explaining that she had dedicated her book to her daughter, noting she wrote it before the arrival of her son.

Recalling the moment she found out her son’s gender, Wu said: “They were like, ‘You’re having a boy’”.

Mimicking her surprised reaction, she continued: “And I was like, ‘Are you sure?’”.

Wu added that despite “differences” between raising a son and a daughter, she hasn’t been nervous about her baby boy.

She shared: “A lot of differences I’m experiencing are like, he’s just a different person [than her daughter].

“It’s our second kid, so we have less anxiety around it, we’ve done it before. It’s still early, he’s still a little nugget.”

In the teaser, the American actress didn’t confirm or say when she welcomed her second child.

Earlier this year, the Lyle, Lyle Crocodile star first revealed her pregnancy on Instagram as she shared a photo of her growing baby bump.

She captioned the post at the time: “Bun in the oven. Filipinese baby number two coming soon.”

The movie star confirmed the news shortly after she was photographed with a bump on show while walking through a park in Los Angeles.

Wu’s partner Ryan is the frontman of the experimental rock band Man Man.

The screen star previously spoke about life with a two-year-old and admitted she hoped her daughter can enjoy some of her projects in time.

She told E! News at the premiere of Lyle Lyle Crocodile: “I started my TV career doing a family show, which was amazing.

“And I really loved being on that show. And so it’s wonderful to be able to do that again. And now that I have a kid, it’s something I can hopefully share with her.

“If she could sit still for more than 10 minutes, which is not yet but hopefully someday soon, she’s only two.”
