Conor McGregor's son Rian wears Manchester United shirt with Dad amid fighter's Chelsea interest

Conor McGregor shared photos with his son Rian wearing a Manchester United jersey on Instagram this evening after Cristiano Ronaldo fired the Red Devils to a 3-2 win over Tottenham earlier today.

Rian can be seen waving to the camera as UFC ace McGregor smiles for the picture.

The Crumlin cagefighter is enjoying a sun holiday with his family as he continues his recovery from a horror leg break suffered in defeat to Dustin Poirier last summer.

The Notorious has previously spoken about his support for the Old Trafford club but more recently expressed an interest in purchasing Chelsea - now that Blues owner Roman Abramovich has been sanctioned by the UK Government and the club is up for sale.

McGregor is highly unlikely to complete a deal to buy the Premier League giants but insists he is serious about the offer.

He said: "I do not speak in jest. I am exploring this, as I said. Celtic from Dermot Desmond, Manchester United from the Glaziers, and now the recently up for sale Chelsea football club.

"All being explored. A football franchise purchase is in my future make no mistake about it.

"Everyday I ball. How wouldn’t I lead a team of young, dedicated athletes to glory. I’m perfect for the job. Pray it’s your team."

Chelsea is in the process of being sold but UK Government sanctions mean that Russian owner Abramovich will not be allowed to profit from any potential sale.

British billionaire Nick Candy, Swiss tycoon Hansjorg Wyss and American investor Todd Boehly are all interested in buying the decorated London club.
