Chelsea transfer news and rumours: £100m Nkunku is ‘top target’; Aubameyang update; Llorente bid rejected

Chelsea’s frantic summer in the transfer market is continuing at a high pace.

Talks over Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang are just the latest rollercoaster endured by Blues fans as a goalscorer tops Thomas Tuchel’s wishlist.

Christopher Nkunku of RB Leipzig is once again considered a key target for Chelsea, although that deal is being eyed for next summer.

Atletico Madrid midfielder Marcos Llorente has also emerged as an option amid difficult negotiations over Frenkie de Jong of Barcelona.

Here is your latest update of Chelsea transfer news and rumours...

Christopher Nkunku

Leipzig striker Nkunku may have signed a new contract this summer but he tops Chelsea’s shortlist of targets to bolster their attack in 2023.

Valued at £100million by the German club before his renewal, according to The Independent, a report from the Telegraph names the Frenchman as the Blues’ priority ahead of AC Milan’s Rafael Leao and Stuttgart forward Sasa Kalajdzic.

The pursuit of Nkunku makes Aubameyang a mere stop-gap for the 2022-23 season, it is claimed.

Chelsea met Aubameyang‘s representatives and Barcelona officials on Thursday to discuss a deal for the Gabonese striker, reports Standard Sport’s Nizaar Kinsella.

The 33-year-old prefers a move to Stamford Bridge over rival interest from Manchester United but remains reluctant to leave the Camp Nou having only signed in January.

A fee of £24m is set to be enough to convince Barcelona to sell up amid their economic issues, leaving the ball in Aubameyang’s court.

Marcos Llorente

A bid of £33.5m has been rejected by Atletico Madrid for Llorente.

The Spanish midfielder is interesting Chelsea, according to AS, leading to an offer that was quickly rebuffed as Atleti stick to their guns over a key player.

Therefore his full £101m release clause is reportedly required to seal a transfer.
