OpenAI has made its most affordable plan ChatGPT Go free in India for all users for one year starting November 4, 2025. It gives access to the latest GPT-5 model, faster responses, increased message limits, image generation, and file uploads.
The free offer applies to new users, existing free-tier users, and current ChatGPT Go subscribers with accounts in good standing. However, users on other ChatGPT plans like Plus, Pro, Business, or Enterprise need to cancel those subscriptions before they can claim this offer.
In order to access ChatGPT Go for free, eligible users need to sign in to their ChatGPT account via the web or app and look for the “Try ChatGPT Go” or “Upgrade to Go for Free” option. During signup, users must add a valid payment method, like a credit/debit card or UPI. No subscription fee will be charged for the 12 months, but a temporary nominal charge may appear for UPI payments as part of the validation process.
The Go plan includes benefits like:
- Expanded usage limits, including 10 times more messages than the free version
- Enhanced image generation capabilities
- Larger file upload support for documents and spreadsheets
- A longer context window for better conversational continuity
- Access to custom GPTs and project management tools
For those interested, the offer is available for a limited time and can be redeemed once per account. If a user cancels the subscription during the free period, access continues till the end of the current billing cycle, but the offer cannot be redeemed again.
