The bushfire in Western Australia's southwest that was threatening homes has been controlled and contained.

An all-clear alert has been issued for parts of Australind and Leschenault in the Shire of Harvey.

"The alert level for this fire has been downgraded as the fire is now contained and controlled," the Department of Fire and Emergency Services said on Tuesday.

"There is no threat to lives or homes."

The bushfire is stationary, roads have reopened and an evacuation centre at nearby Eaton has closed.
