Bruce Springsteen fans fuming after losing tickets in Bank of Ireland outage

The Bank Of Ireland app is currently down in a major outage in Ireland - and wreaked havoc on people's plans to get Bruce Springsteen tickets.

A total of 60% of users are reporting issues with mobile banking while nearly 30% are having problems logging into the online website, according to DownDetector.com.

And the outage has left many fuming as they struggled to buy the tickets for Bruce Springsteen's Dublin gigs after being forced to wait in lengthy queues on Ticketmaster.

Some unlucky fans even lost their tickets despite waiting for over an hour due to the crash.

One Dublin Live reader said: "I actually had tickets for the Sunday night but I was using a Bank Of Ireland card and then app wouldn't authenticate! It was so stressful!"

A number of customers took to Twitter to complain about the outage.

One person, who was in the queue for 90 minutes, lost their tickets after the banking app crashed.

They said: "FUMING! Waited 90 mins for Springsteen tickets and the BOI app just kept crashing. Couldn't validate payment. Tickets lost. Honestly, it's enough to make you switch banks."

Another person said: "It's not just mobile. Can't get to 365 from web either. Obviously BOI can't handle a few thousand transactions from Bruce fans. Unbelievable."

A third Twitter user complained: "1.5 hours to get #brucespringsteen tickets and BOI app fails 3 TIMES!!! Absolutely fuming. @talktoBOI seriously need to sort it out. Not good enough."

Replying to one of the complaints, a spokesperson for the Bank of Ireland said: "We have had reports of customers having issues with their apps. Please be assured we have raised this with our support team to look into this further."
