The Seagulls may be worried about letting another lead slip, however, they have already proved this season that they can beat the big guns.

Half-time at the AMEX, as Brighton lead Spurs by two goals to one. After some early attacking threat by Spurs, it was Brighton who took the lead. Rutter found Minteh in behind the Spurs defence and he rounded the goalkeeper before slotting home. Ayari made it two with a stunning strike from range, however, Vicario will be disappointed with not pushing it wide. Spurs halved the deficit just before the break, as Richarlison managed to get the ball past Verbruggen and get his third goal of the season. Spurs lead on xG - 0.97 compared to Brighton’s 0.86. Opta give Brighton a 70% chance of three points today, whereas Spurs’ chance of winning is now less than 9%. The first half has been a real show of attacking talent. Brighton will need to close up at the back to take the three points today.

Sarr also starts on the bench after starting all of Tottenham’s games so far, with Palhinha coming into the side. After assisting on his Premier League debut for Tottenham, Simons has now been involved in eight goals across his last 10 top-flight league appearances.

The Seagulls have only won one of their opening four matches, most recently falling to defeat at fellow seaside club Bournemouth. Their only victory in the league came against Manchester City after a late winner from Brajan Gruda. There form sees them sit in 13th place in the league, however in the early stages of the season all it takes is a few wins on the bounce to fly up the table. Last season they won both games against Spurs, including coming from two behind to win 3-2 in the game at the AMEX.
