It’s another year, which means we’re getting another NBA 2K title. On September 5, 2026, the newly announced NBA 2K26 will drop, providing a new experience for basketball lovers and gamers alike to enjoy. Featuring the star guard for the title-winning Oklahoma City Thunder and reigning NBA MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander on the cover, 2K is giving players a few different choices when it comes to what editions of the game will be available.
In total, there are 4 editions of NBA 2K26 that will be available on the market (well, technically, there’s only 3, but we’ll get to that). Each one offers its own individual perks and advantages. Instead of needing to look it up and see the differences for yourself, we here at Operation Sports have decided to do you the kindness of listing them all out here so you can easily and efficiently compare each version is most worth your money.
Without further ado, let’s break down the differences between each edition of NBA 2K26.

First up is the standard edition of NBA 2K26. There’s not much special about this version, as the only pre-order bonus that comes with it is 10,000 in Virtual Currency (VC). The cover athlete of the standard edition is Shai Gigleous-Alexander, the reigning NBA MBP and star guard for the Oklahoma City Thunder, who are fresh off an NBA Championship.
As one would expect, the standard edition retails for the standard $69.99 and comes with only minimal pre-order perks.
